About Photography & Videography

With the boom in advertising, media and the fashion industry, photography has emerged as a lucrative and thrilling career option to many of Indian youths. Until some years ago the masses regarded photography as a hobby profession only, but now it has now emerged in a big way.
            These days, Photography is fast emerging as a popular career choice among all the age groups. Photography is both a science and an art. It is an artistic means of expression, the camera replacing the pen or the paintbrush.
A photographer must be able to create a good composition of any subject, a piece of machinery, the beauty of human body, scenery or a child's smile.
It is rightly said that a single picture can sometimes be much more eloquent than a thousand words. Few vocations offer a larger variety of prospects than does photography. Photography is divided into many streams each generating numerous job opportunities.

 

Kolhapur is one of the fastest-growing cities in Maharashtra and is one of the highest per capita income cities in India. The city is a hub for photography industry. Kolhapur  having approximately 1500 Photo studio units located, but availability of skilled labour is a major issue. There is high demand for Photographers, immediate job opportunities as 90% units are small to medium scale.

 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO's)

 

1. Demonstrate knowledge of Light operating , Photography Science, Gating System Design to solve Event album making processes related problems in business.
2. Become an Innovator & Entrepreneur to address social, technical and business challenges.
3. Select and apply relevant modern technique of varies types of Photography .
4. Use appropriate environmentally friendly processes for photography industry.
5. Apply ethical business practices in photography Industry.
6. Work in Industry/self employee as a team player as well as a team leader.
7. Communicate effectively and professionally at Local to Global level.
8. Apply Project Management Techniques and Financial Management Techniques in Photography.

 

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO’s)

1. Will collect and analyze data for solving the problems related with Lighting techniques.
2. Make Use of handling accessories Techniques, using light Techniques & Appropriate post processing Techniques for improving quality of shooting.

B. Voc Degree Course:        
Duration:The duration of the B. Voc Course will be of three year

B.Voc. Part I - Diploma in Photography& Videography. (Semester I & II)

B.Voc. Part II - Advanced Diploma Photography& Videography.(Semester III& IV)

B.Voc. Part III - Bachelor of Vocation in Photography& Videography.(Semester V&VI)

Community College Diploma/ Advance Diploma Course:        
CC Advance Diploma in  Photography (Semester I and IV) – Duration :- Two Year
CC Diploma in Event Photography (Semester I and II) - Duration :- One Year

CC Diploma in Cinematography (Semester I and II) - Duration :- One Year

Eligibility Criteria: 

1. The candidates with 10+2 or equivalent, in any stream(Arts/Commerce/Science) from any recognized board or university.
2. The candidates with 10 + two-year ITI course in any branch/tread and Diploma from any recognized board/Institutes are also eligible for the course.
3. The candidates with Diploma or Advance Diploma in same stream eligible for the B. Voc course.
