               The Department of Geography at Vivekanand College, Kolhapur has been a center of academic excellence, innovation, and research in the field of geography and geoinformatics. With a commitment to nurturing curiosity about the Earth and its systems, the department blends traditional geographical knowledge with modern technological applications.

             The department offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, a Postgraduate Diploma in Geoinformatics, and a full-fledged M.Sc. in Geoinformatics, thereby providing opportunities for students to pursue higher studies and build careers in diverse fields such as environment, planning, disaster management, and spatial technologies. There were 24 students admitted to B.A.III, 17 for B.A.II and 113 for B.A.I. & 30 for PG Dip. in Geoinformatics.

          The teaching faculty includes 2 full-time and 4 part-time members, who bring rich academic knowledge, research experience, and practical insights to the classroom. The department emphasizes experiential learning through field studies, project work, GIS and Remote Sensing applications, and hands-on training in modern geospatial tools.

            With a vision to create skilled professionals and responsible citizens, the Department of Geography continuously strives to contribute to academic growth, research development, and community outreach in alignment with the mission of Vivekanand College.
